Hydrant Maintenance


Summer Hydrant Maintenance Open Now  

$12.00 per hour - up to 40 hours per week


Fire District 3 is looking to fill a Fire Hydrant Inspections position to complete maintenance on our estimated 600 hydrants within the District.  We will also be looking to hire an additional person to help with Hydrant Flow Testing in the fall.  



This is a non-Emergency Response Position. Along with Inspections and flow testing, computer inputting/hydrant painting will be a component. All training for the position will be conducted at FD3.


Be available to work from early July - August 31. Essential functions of the job include safe driving and parking in traffic, and operating, cleaning and painting hydrants.



The position will pay 12.00 hour. All equipment/gear and District vehicle provided for Inspections.  There will be a maximum 40 hours/week, with a flexible schedule.  



  • Be 18 years of age by hire date.

  • Have a high school diploma or GED.

  • Be in excellent physical condition.

  • Not have any felony convictions within the past seven (7) years.  Misdemeanor convictions will also be reviewed.

  • Have a valid driver’s license.

  • Have no record of driver’s license suspension or revocation in any state within the last three (3) years.



Firefighter training and experience related to the operation of hydrants and driving.
