Fire District 3 stretches tax dollars further with grants, Battle Ground partnerships.

Brush Prairie, WA - Clark County Fire District 3 looks for ways to stretch local tax dollars further. It has an active grant application that has secured $328,000 in grants for a new water tender and personal protective equipment for firefighters.

Brush Prairie, WA - Voters in Clark County Fire District 3 will be asked to approve a 13-cent fire levy lid lift during the November General Election to fund emergency operations. The Board of Fire Commissioners held two public meetings before passing the resolution unanimously on June 12. 

Since 2007, emergency calls have increased almost 40% in the fire district alone. This figure does not include emergency responses in the City of Battleground, which contracts with Fire District 3 for fire and emergency medical services.

BRUSH PRAIRIE, WA - The Board of Fire Commissioners for Clark County Fire District 3 will consider a resolution at two upcoming meetings to place a 13-cent fire levy lid lift on the November General Election ballot. 


The public is encouraged to attend, share their thoughts or learn more about the proposal.

BRUSH PRAIRIE, WA-Statistics for 2016 are now in and the number of emergency calls responded to by Fire District 3 is up

almost 40 percent compared to 2007. 

"The trend over the last ten years is important to us, and to the citizens we serve, "said Fire Chief Steve Wrightson. "Calls to 

fight fires at homes or businesses require a different mix of firefighters and equipment than calls to help victims of heart 

attacks or car crashes. Every call is important, and we want to do the best job we can to help people as if they're our own family 

member."

Fire District 3 and Battle Ground reflect on one year partnership - January 20, 2017

BRUSH PRAIRIE, WASH. – Clark County Fire District 3 started providing emergency services to the City of Battle Ground 

on a contract basis in January of 2016. Over the past 12 months, this partnership has improved the emergency response

for families and businesses in both areas.

“This contract came at a good time for Fire District 3,” said Chief Steve Wrightson. “The partnership has helped us staff 

more stations in the fire district and respond faster to multiple emergency calls that come in at the same time.”


28 Years of Clean Audits for Fire District 3 – December 16, 2016

BRUSH PRAIRIE, WASH. – Clark County Fire District 3 is celebrating 28 years of clean financial and accountability audits

conducted by the Washington State Auditor’s Office. Fire Chief Steve Wrightson says that the fire district has passed

every audit since he’s been there almost 30 years.
