Water Shuttle

Over the last several days, Fire District 3 personnel practiced their water-shuttling skills. They utilized the new tender from Station 31, the tender from Station 33, along with the engines from Station 31, 33, and 34. The crews were required to maintain water flow for at least 30 minutes, without the use of a direct connection to a hydrant. Our specialized equipment (pumps, portable tanks, hoses, etc.) and uniquely designed vehicles, combined with our competency-based training, make it possible for residents within our District to receive "Tender/Tanker" credit when they are more than 1000' feet from a fire hydrant - this helps to lower homeowner insurance premiums.
