Q. What is the Fire Protection Class Rating for Fire District 3?
A. The Washington Surveying and Rating Bureau (WSRB) rerated us in 2014 and the Protection Classification for Fire District 3 improved from a Protection Class 5 to a Protection Class 4. This new rating became effective February 1, 2015. Fire District 3 was also evaluated for WSRB Tender Credit, and it was determined that the community will retain this Protection Class rating credit. A Protection Class 4 rating applies to dwelling and commercial properties located in the community, within five road miles of a responding fire station and having a standard fire hydrant distribution and water supply. Properties in the community not meeting the above requirements will receive a different Protection Class rating. Protection Class ratings for individual and commercial properties are available by calling WSRB Customer Service at (206) 217-0101.

We recommend residents contact their insurance agents to determine the relative effect this new Protection Class rating will have on their insurance premiums.
