Fire Chief Steve Wrightson

Steve Wrightson serves as Fire Chief. 
Chief Wrightson's primary responsibilities include fire district administration, financial management, human resources, strategic planning and community relations.

Chief Wrightson began his fire service career in 1975. Prior to his selection as Fire Chief at Fire District 3 in 1989, he served as Battalion Chief (Clark County Fire District 4 and 5), Deputy Fire Marshal (Clark County Fire Marshal's Office), Captain, Engineer and Firefighter (El Centro Fire Department), and Wildland Firefighter (Bureau of Land Management and U.S. Forest Service).

Chief Wrightson holds a Master of Business Administration (City University), a Bachelor of Arts Degree (San Diego State University), and an Associate of Science in Fire Protection Technology (Portland Community College). He is also a graduate of the National Fire Academy Executive Fire Officer Program.

Chief Wrightson is a member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs, the National Fire Protection Association, the Washington State Association of Fire Chiefs, and the Clark County Fire Chiefs Association. Chief Wrightson was an Adjunct Instructor at Portland Community College from 2007-2015. He also serves as a Board member for Educational Service District 112.

Chief Wrightson is married and has three daughters. The family resides in Hockinson.
